Resurfacing of various roads in Woodstock

13 November 2024

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to advise residents, road users and businesses of roadworks along Rhodes Avenue, Fryde Road, Upper Melbourne Road, Upper Park Road, Upper Cambridge Street, Upper Keppel Street, Lever Street, Perth Road, Cambridge Street, Milan Street and Nerina Street in Woodstock. The roadworks start today, 13 November 2024 until Friday, 13 December 2024 between 09:00 and 15:30, Monday to Saturday, weather permitting and provided there are no unforeseen delays.

The roadworks comprise:

• The milling and removal of existing road surface layers.
• The placing of new bituminous surface layers.
• All road markings removed during the process will be reinstated with new retro-reflective road marking paint.

‘This road resurfacing project in Woodstock forms part of the City’s road maintenance programme. Regular maintenance prolongs the longevity of the road network and ensures that we keep Cape Town moving. The benefit of resurfacing roads includes improved road safety conditions and decreased vehicle user costs,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

The City thanks members of the public for their patience during the course of these roadworks and recommends that road users exercise caution or consider alternative routes.
